Sudan Military has seized power for two years

Speaking on state TV, National Defense Minister of Sudan, Awad Ibn Ouf said the army has decided to oversee a two-year transitional period.

After nearly 30 years in power, Sudan president Omar al-Bashir has been ousted and arrested.

These two years will be followed by elections for a Republican rule.

He also said a three-month state of emergency was being put in place.

He added that all political prisoners will be released within the two years
