The Spanish La Liga could be back in action on or before 28 of May, the league has been in suspension for over a month now because of the coronavirus. Presently no Spanish club has played any competitive game since 11th of March, when Atletico Madrid knocked defending champions Liverpool out of Champions League.

An official in the La Liga by the Javier Tebas reportedly said training will not return until emergency measures have been put in place and that will take until 26th of April. He explained that La Liga clubs could lose up to 1bn euros if the current league is cancelled so, there is need to resume the league.

Tebas also gave three possible start dates which are currently being discussed with Uefa. According to him in statement he said: “Of all the different scenarios we have been looking at with Uefa to go back to competing, the most probable ones are 28 May, 6 June or 28 June.”

“We can’t say an exact date. This will be given to us by the authorities in Spain. But we still have time to get back to training before that.” He said La Liga is not contemplating on completing the domestic league, which still has 11 gamesto be played. He is however concerned of the health of the people both the players and the fans.

He said: “If we are looking at the economic impact, including the money we would get from European competitions, the revenue Spanish clubs would miss out on if we don’t get back playing again is 1bn euros. If we do get playing but without spectators, it would be 300m. “Even if we get back to playing with spectators, the damage this situation has already caused would be 150m euros.”

For now, the La Liga management team awaits Uefa to approve of the date given to them, they scheduled to resume on the 28 of May which just a month away.
