The talks that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu earlier removed fuel subsidies in Nigeria has been explained better by an All Progressives Congress, APC Chieftain, Jesutega Onokpasa, who claims the country’s leader never stopped subsidy payment.

During his interview on Arise TV with Rufai Oseni, Ayo Mairo-Ese and Reuben Abati, the former member of the Dissolved APC Presidential Campaign Council, Onopkasa, revealed with concrete details, the misconceptions surrounding the supposed removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria.

He argued with passion that President Tinubu never removed, adding that the law doesn’t allow anyone to pay in the first place, insisting that the Petroleum Industry Act, PIA 2021, allowed the country to pay subsidies unlawfully.

The APC Chieftain blamed the idea that Nigeria fulfilled the fuel subsidy payment arrangement on the previous administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, which made provisions down to June.

He stressed that the Nigerian law doesn’t permit even the President to pay subsidy, adding that even President Tinubu is not above breaking the law.
