Babagana Zulum, the Governor of Borno State, has revealed that the state is now relatively peaceful and would do more to keep it that way until it is fully recovered.
He commended the effort on the military in the state, adding that it was their continous attacks on the Boko Haram terrorists and members of the Islamic State’s West Africa Province, ISWAP.
The Governor revealed this current development immediately after a private meeting at the state house with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
In a tweet put forward by the President’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, the Borno State Governor visited to give an update on the security situation in the region.
His post reads as follows, “Earlier today, Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno State updated President @MBuhari again on latest security development in his State. After the meeting, the Governor revealed that following the recent onslaught on insurgents by Nigerian troops, the State is now relatively peaceful.”
