Barely 24 hours after the Christian Association of Nigeria drags the Nigerian government to court, Bishop David Oyedepo has warned the federal government.
Bishop Oyedepo, the Living Faith Church founder, kicked against the Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA 2020 announced to regulate religious bodies and charity organizations.
The cleric described the CAMA 2020 as a demonic attempt to stifle the church, which he called one of Nigeria’s greatest assets.
According to Bishop Oyedepo, the government has no business with the church’s running because it runs on patterns delivered by God.
He opined that the CAMA law must be from someone who woke up from the wrong side of the bed, adding that the law will never work.
Oyedepo stressed that the government has no power to appoint people over churches. He noted that freedom of worship is part of fundamental human rights in Nigeria.
You will recall that the Christian body had asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to determine the CAMA 2020.
According to CAN’s General Secretary, Joseph Daramola, the Association asked sought orders of an injunction to restrain the Nigerian Government from taking any further steps in its implementation.
