Police are currently investigating reports that a threatening banner was flang close to the house of former Liverpool and Real Madrid manager boss Rafael Benitez. Rafael Benitez is the favourite to take Everton managerial role, but the threat seems to make the former Chelsea manager afraid.
Police Investigate Threats on Rafael Benitez
Should Benitez take the Everton job, he will become the first manager to lead the Liverpool and Everton’s neighbouring clubs since the 1890s. A picture of the banner, which was posted online, said: “We know where you live. Don’t sign.”

A Merseyside Police statement said they confirmed the incident, and police are currently on the matter as they are investigating the reports of threatening banner at his place. The statement says: “At around 7 am, it was reported that a banner made from bedsheets had been placed over a wall and bushes on a residential driveway, with wording which is thought to target football manager Rafa Benitez.”
Detective Inspector Darren Taylor also said: “This message has understandably caused some distress and worry for residents in the area. Due to the football language used, we suspect that it was aimed at Rafa Benitez – but whoever placed the message left it outside the wrong house.”
They have also informed the general public that if anyone has information about the people or the person that dropped the banner or helped to put it up, they should notify them immediately.
Everton has been looking for a manager since the sudden departure of former manager Carlo Ancelotti. They contacted the former Wolves manager, but it seems not working. Nuno is likely to join Crystal Palace instead.
