Former Lawmakers, Senator Ben Murray Bruce and Senator Dino Melaye have reacted to the allegations leveled against the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Reverend Mathew Kukah by the federal government after he accused President Muhammadu Buhari of nepotism.

In a tweet, Ben Bruce noted that the religious faith in Nigeria is vital to the country’s coexistence. The Senator, however, offered to bring together Bishop Kukah and President Buhari in the interest of Nigeria for a better understanding of each other.

Also, Dino stated that Nigerians would prove to Buhari that the government is not owned by him if he makes attempt to arrest or embarrass Bishop Kukah over his recent comment about his government.

The former lawmaker accused the Buhari-led administration of trying to scare everybody.

Mohammed noted that though religious leaders have a responsibility to speak truth to power, however, he opined that such truth must not be wrapped in anger, hatred, disunity, and religious disharmony.

He urged religious leaders to refrain from stigmatizing the leader they had never supported using allegations of nepotism (read more here)
