Governor Ben Ayade of CrossRiver State has praised the late lawmaker representing Akpabuyo state constituency in the House of Assembly, Mrs Elizabeth Ironbar, stating that she was a proud daughter of the state and a consummate lawmaker.
Ayade said her death was unfortunate and would create a major vacuum in the Assembly, adding that Government recognizes her robust contributions to legislation.
His condolence message was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Christian Ita, in the state yesterday.

He said: “As a government, we are saddened by the unfortunate departure of Hon. Elizabeth Edem Ironbar. She was a proud daughter of our dear state and a consummate lawmaker.”
Recall that the late representative was elected into the Assembly in 2015 and 2019 and started sponsoring the Cross River State Disability Commission Bill.
The deceased was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, having refused to decamp to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mrs Elizabeth Ironbar was pronounced dead by her family on Tuesday night in Cross River State.
The late Ironbar reportedly gave up the soul in her official abode at the Assembly Village, Ekorinim, Calabar Municipality.
The family revealed that the lawmaker suffered from an undisclosed ailment, after which she finally passed on.
