Beatrice Itubo, the Chairman of Rivers State council of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, is now the governorship candidate of the Labour Party.
Fortunately, she was declared the winner of the party primaries after pulling 201 votes out of the 272 delegate votes.
Itubo clearly outshined her opponent who is a former member of the House of Representatives, Eneyi Braid, as he scored just 71 votes.
On Thursday, the Labour Party in Rivers State held its guber primaries in Port Harcourt, where her victory speech included a call on the Rivers people to ensure they secure their permanent voters’ cards to vote out bad leaders.
According to the newly elected flag bearer, she asked the party members to inform everyone within your sphere of interest to “Go and register and get their PVC because if you don’t have your PVC, if you like, line out from here and get to Ordinance Junction, it will take us to nowhere.”
