Khosi and Thabang would have been the couple for Africa. They had such a beautiful connection that most people wanted to see them flourish despite the age difference. The fact that they were perfect did not spare them from harsh criticism.
Big Brother is an avenue for individual publicity, and it provides a gateway for the public to share strong opinions that could come across as negative. Most time fans get so emotionally attached to a particular person or people that their rational judgement is lowered, this might lead to very biased comments that could even be toxic to other stars of the show.
The toxicity that is mostly spread on social media by Big Brother’s fans is referred to as “drag”. Dragging an ex-housemate in the most vile way possible is not out of option for these fans and this could do serious damage to one’s mental health.
Relationships often lead to the greatest dragging. Love that emanates from the show most times faces backlash that could be unbearable to a weak mind Thabang and Khosi’s relationship would have been one of those that would have attracted as much disapproval as support. Thabang being no more than a young adult that just crossed over his teenage years might have found the uproar suffocating.
This idea was confirmed by a tweet someone made stating, Thabang could see he would have been dragged by shippers hence he pulled out of every ship. He supported this tweet by replying how badly he’s trying to stay away from trouble. This tweet gave us so much insight into his fear when it comes to Khosi.
Their refusal to date might not be as a result of a disappeared attraction but because one or both of the pair are terrified by the public’s reaction to their ship.
