Weekends are very exciting times in the Big Brother Naija House. This is because there are lots of activities to look forward to. Week 8 weekend was no different as Biggie engaged the housemates in various challenges. Here’s your usual rundown:
Last Friday was really entertaining. When the housemates got back from their morning workout, they were asked to freeze and ninjas came in to litter the house. It was punishment for leaving the house in a mess in the first place.
As punishment for not winning the task on Thursday, Big Brother punished Cruisetopia. They had to scrub the floor of a passage with toothbrushes. Tacha also joined in this punishment because they were asked to freeze and she didn’t.
The arena games were fun. Elozonam emerged the winner of the Friday Night Arena Game. He won 400 Bet9ja coins. Omashola came second winning 200 Bet9ja coins.
It was quite eventful on Saturday. Biggie asked the housemates to cook a local dish for him and the ninjas. The housemates opted for egusi soup and poundo. The housemates also had an Innoson Challenge that lasted almost the whole day.
The first challenge was for the housemates to either cook or sing for 2 hours. Jackye sang almost throughout and she even ran out of songs. When they were done cooking, Biggie asked them to move to the arena.
On getting there, the housemates saw a brand new red IVM Fox. Biggie told the housemates that they can take a closer look at the car and even enter but they should not ruin the ribbons. The housemates were very excited. Then Biggie asked the housemates to prepare a 2 minutes speech on why they’re proud to be Nigerians.
The presentation was done in alphabetical order. Viewers were impressed with what they each had to say. Most people liked Ike’s speech.
The next phase of the challenge was for the housemates to hold on to the ribbons on the car. The last person standing wins the car. It took a while as expected. A lot of drama also attached to this challenge. Some housemates were making some questionable comments about the car.
I’m sure you were as shocked as I was when Cindy said she doesn’t really need the car. That she just wants it because it’ll be good to win something. It’s shocking for viewers to know that Cindy is wealthy. The only reason Cindy has our affection is that she seemed helpless. It was a “wawu!” moment for us all. I have no doubts that she will be evicted when next she will be nominated. Anyways, moving on. Someone suggested that they all let go of the ribbon and donate the car to charity.
Well, some of the housemates let go of the ribbon. To cut the long story short because that challenge took a while, Khafi was the last person standing. She won herself a brand new Innoson car. She said it’s her first car and she was really excited (who wouldn’t be).
Next event, the Saturday night party. Dj Switch “switched” things up. It was top notch. The housemates were looking nice. Biggie sent their clothes as usual except for Tacha. He sent a sewing machine and asked her to sew what she wants to wear.
After the party, Mercy and Ike sure gave us some entertainment. One minute they were so engrossed in each other’s eyes. Having deep conversations about their relationship and Ike saying he wants to marry her and she even started shedding tears. Next minute, Mercy told him it’s over. Saying he does not care about anything but the money. This fight started because Ike made a statement. It is now common knowledge that when Mercy gets drunk or maybe tipsy, she’s the most irritable person ever. Her temper goes up real quick.
It was a normal Sunday. Filled with tension and preparation. The hairstylists came to groom the housemates that were up for possible eviction. The housemates that were up for possible eviction were Diane, Seyi, Gedoni, Jackye, Frodd, Mike, and Mercy.
Ebuka was looking dashing as usual. Biggie reprimanded Tacha, giving her a strike which makes it 2 strikes now. The first reason is that she was disrespectful to Ebuka last week on Sunday when he asked her a question. And the second reason is that whenever she’s asked to go to the diary room, she grumbles and takes her time. One more strike and she will be disqualified.
Biggie sounded really pissed when he addressed the issue. He said, “you keep boasting that you’ll be here till the 99th day as if this is your house.” The girl should really calm down before life forces her to be calm.
Biggie also gave Mercy a strike for provoking Ike. Making this her first strike.
This season, Ebuka has been known to call people out for what they do or say in private. He asked Gedoni what he feels for Khafi and he said he feels deeply for her. Ebuka then asked him why he doesn’t defend her when someone is talking about her especially Venita. He gave a very flimsy reason. And Venita was just acting clueless as if she has no idea what Ebuka was saying.
Gedoni is the 11th housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother House. When it was mentioned that he was evicted, he knelt down and said “Thank God” because he has a lot of questions to answer from Khafi. It was like entire Nigeria rejoiced with his eviction. Most viewers feel it’s unfair how he treats Khafi. He’s the center of her life in that house and he treats her anyhow and does not stand up for her when people are talking about her. Which is why I think he got low votes.
Everyone thinks that Gedoni’s eviction is what Khafi really needs to focus on the game. She really cried after the eviction. Like a widow. Hopefully, she’ll appreciate it someday. Nigerians were only looking out for her as funny as that sounds. He said he’ll focus on fashion design because it’s more of passion to him. When asked who he thinks will win, he said Mike.
The 12th housemate to be evicted was Jackye. She wasn’t particularly close to anyone in the house asides Mike. She said she’ll miss Mike the most. When asked who she thinks will win, she said she’s rooting for Mercy. Tacha will most definitely not miss her as she didn’t even move when she was evicted. Well, we can say that she’s being real. On the brighter side, she won 1.750 million Naira and a trip to Dubai. So she’s not going back home empty-handed.
We’ll most certainly miss those two and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
Biggie dissolved the old groups and created new ones. The new groups are now Legends which consists of Tacha, Omashola, Frodd, Esther, Sir Dee, Venita and Venita. The second team is Enigma which includes: Mike, Seyi, Cindy, Mercy, Diane, Ike and Elozonam
Ike won the veto power challenge for the week. He was competing against Frodd. Most of the housemates expressed their feelings on how glad they are that it was Ike that won the veto power.
Please tune in to back for a recap next weekend. No one serves you your Big Brother Goodies like we do.
