Already popular BBNaija Lockdown housemate, 22 year old Nengi Rebecca Hampson was on the brink of tears as she shared stories of how her late mother struggled to make ends meet for her and her sister.
While in a discussion with her fellow BBNaija Lockdown housemates, Nengi recounted how her father was not involved in her life and her mother, who wasn’t opportuned to get an education, took to petty trade so that she could send her girls to school . With a shaky voice she narrated the story of her mom selling recharge cards in front of her school and how she didn’t want her classmates to know that it was her mom there.
Losing her mom was a huge turning point in Nengi’s life and while taking her colleagues through her journey in pageantry, she said she had to back out of the 2016 MBGN pageant because her mom’s health deteriorated, she was battling with kidney failure at the time.
Nengi finished by saying that in all she does, she does not joke with God because he has done so much for her.
She also said that people should not be deceived by her looks because she had been through a lot and is not from a rich home as most think.
