Former BBNaija housemate, Paul Ephraim, popularly known as Jaypaul, has been under fire after revealing how he outwitted a dispatch rider who tried to swindle him.
On Wednesday, the musician and TV host revealed that a dispatch rider charged him 3000 naira instead of the N2700 reflected on the app.
Jaypaul then stated that he pointed it out to the rider who replied to him with “What’s the difference”, he then decided to play a fast one on him by sending him #2680.
Jaypaul tweeted, “Dispatch guy charges me N3000 for a delivery instead of N2700 that the app charged. I asked him why he replies ‘What’s the difference?’. So I sent him N2680. Mans been ranting in my messages since. What should I tell him?”
This gesture did not go down well with some of his fans who felt he should have just sent the actual amount for the delivery instead of subtracting 20 Naira.
@sogwason tweeted, “I hope this is not true shaa, if not can’t you help a hustling rider? Why are so mean? I hope you bless that guy because you didn’t do well. All these ladies supporting you here are hypocrites, they will definitely leave the N300 for the Rider”
@greatmonarch11 said, “I know there is dishonesty in this but remember a giver doesn’t lack and since you have it you could have easily given it to him if all works well in the country he won’t be in d situation he is today”
@bodganolena9 replied. “Oga fuel cus ooo…pay him his complete money which is 2700…”
However, despite the backlash, some felt Jaypaul did the right thing.
@sealuv15, tweeted, “I would have supported the guy if he said “the amount is 2,700 but you fit help me round am up boss” maybe he would have got more… JP’s decision depends on how the guy sounds.”
@Gradiorockstar wrote, “Very smelly entitled behaviour! I for send am 2500 make e come ask me nonsense.”
@bankyonsound tweeted, “If na me, shishi, I no dey balance. Let him know how to politely render his services and let the customer bless his hustle. Saying “bros abeg help e find something” is better than what’s the difference.”
Jaypaul participated in the BBNaija season 6 edition and has since moved on to bigger things after joining the E-splash team on Television Continental for the lunch break show.
