Seyi Awolowo on BBNaija 2019 Reunion
Seyi’s apology to Thelma on BBNaija 2019 Reunion is one of the highlights of the show so far and analysing it is really worth the stress. Seyi and Thelma have been carrying a long grudge over what he said her while they were both on the BBNaija show.
The storm started raging when the questions about gossips brewed anger and tension that took over the show.
Thelma dropped the piece of her mind when she was asked to mention the housemates she thinks were involved in gossips while on the show.
Thelma went straight for Seyi’s head amidst all the housemates. She said, “Seyi is the number one akproko in the house, and if I want to look at that we should not be sitting together.”
And that what the beginning of the trouble. She went back memory lane to how Seyi had insulted her with the death of her late elder brother.
He was reported to have told Thelma that she would never make it in life because her fortune has been buried with her late elder brother.
Thelma could not hold back her emotions and hurt as she tried to fight back tears right on the show. She betrayed the promise she made not to shed tears live on TV, but what could the poor girl do.
This brought out emotions on the show and it was important for Seyi to speak on the matter that he has written his name in the black books of so many viewers. The question is if he truly did say this, what would be able to help him justify such a statement?
In his defence, Seyi said Thelma made her grievances known based on her perception and what he was going to say will also be based on his now perception?
Seyi must really be kidding. With what you said, dragging the memory of a late family member who was killed into a game, competition on a national TV is more serious than making such a statement.
He also said he made the statement because he was angry, which is a weakness. “I don’t like being angry, because it is a weakness. When I am angry I say things that I am not supposed to say.
Yes, to agree that anger is your weakness sounds nice, but how well have you worked on it?
Some viewers of the BBNaija 2019 Reunion have also taken to the social media to ask why he could not have insulted her personally if he was truly angry, instead of dragging her family to disgrace in the public.
Instead of going straight to apologise, Seyi kept beating around the bush, especially when Thelma claimed he has not apologised to her in person which he said he did during one of the interview seasons he had.
After blaming the hurtful utterances on anger, he apologised to Thelma, her family, even to her late murdered brother.
That apology did not go well with a lot of people who think it was not a sincere apology. With the way, he defended his statements and blamed if somehow on Thelma, they claimed he was not seeing what he did was totally wrong, hence the need to sincerely apologise.
Though Thelma said she has forgiven him believing that her family members would have found it in their minds to forgive Seyi, many people said Seyi is rude, lousy, authoritative and unapologetic about his actions.
