Eric Abidal Received Sack Latter after Bayern Munich thrashed Barca

After a horrible night for the Spanish giants, Barcelona Gerard Pique has come out to say there is a need for a massive change in their team. The player said big changes are needed at Barcelona following their “humiliating” 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The 33-year-old defender, who has won 20 major titles in his 12 years at Barca, he said: he will be “the first to leave” if the club wished it. Friday’s loss of 8-2 is the heaviest Barcelona have suffered in Europe and ends a season that has also seen them lose the La Liga title to Real Madrid and end the season without any trophy.

Bayern Munich Started the lead from Thomas Muller strike before David Alaba hit the defended a ball back into his own net to level the scores. But Bayern Munich came back to the game almost immediately as they flooded the Spanish team with goals it ended 4- in the first 45 minutes as they headed to the break.

They resumed and Bayern Munich was still on fire as they kept scoring, Barca’s striker Luis Suarez scored in the second half but it was only a consolation goal as the ended 8-2 with Lionel Messi not scoring any goal in the game. Former Manchester United defender Gerard Pique came out and said: “We have hit rock bottom.” “This is not the first, nor the second, nor the third time. We are not on the right path,” the player added.

He continued: “Coaches and players follow one another, but it has been several years since we have been able to be competitive on a European level. “We all have to think internally and decide what is best for the club, for Barca. Tonight was unacceptable for Barcelona.

“It’s very hard to take but I hope it will be useful for something, for us to all think about it. “The club needs changes. And I’m not talking at the level of the coach or the players, but structurally the club needs changes of all kinds. “We must bring in new blood to change this dynamic, and if necessary, I would be the first to leave.”

Barcelona has reportedly sack former player and present sporting director Eric Abidal, this could just be the start of the changes the defender is talking about. For the head coach Quique Setien who was already under pressure heading into the quarter-final tie following a disappointing seven months in charge after succeeding Ernesto Valverde in January he was sacked an hour after the game.
