German top side Bayern Munich has contacted Robert Lewandowski for a possible buy. The German club who have been trying to sign Dembele for months, have taken a step forward and have shown firm interest in the 25-year-old. With that, Barcelona is now not only discussing a move for Robert Lewandowski with Bayern, but the name of Dembele a free agent on June 30 is also likely to pop up.
Barcelona’s board believes that the figures they will offer to the France international will be close to those he will get from Bayern, who are expecting major departures in their attacking department this summer. Barca is going through a delicate economic situation and is weighed down by its low salary cap, which has come after years of misspending in the club.
For the same reason, Barcelona cannot match the figures offered by Paris Saint-Germain, another of the big clubs that are after France International. But, despite these proposals, Dembele has not yet signed with any other club. The former Dortmund forward is awaiting Barcelona’s final offer, which will be revealed at the next meeting. The fact that he has not yet put pen to paper with another club gives some hope to Xavi Hernandez, who is pushing for his renewal, although in the Camp Nou offices they are not very optimistic.
Barca informed Dembele’s camp in the last meeting they had a couple of weeks ago that they will make an effort to keep him and present him with a creative contract based on bonuses, which they hope will satisfy him.
