France International Antoine Griezmann and Barcelona skipper Lionel Messi both scored to ensure their side return to winning ways. Lionel Messi would have scored hat-trick but he missed a penalty but Barcelona was still able to win the game.
Yesterday Real Madrid won their own game to close up with league leaders Atletico Madrid, Barca today bounced back from a shocking 2-1 lost to Granada last week to grab all three points from Valencia. They came from behind to move within two points of La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid.
Former Arsenal man Gabriel opened the scoring for home team through header, Barca had the chance to come back when they were given a penalty only for Messi to miss from the spot but convert the rebound. Antoine Griezmann put Barca ahead and Messi clipped in a trademark free-kick before Carlos Soler’s screamer gave Valencia vain hope.
Next Saturday Barca will host league leaders Atletico at their Nou Camp in league deccisder game. Presently, Barcelona are level on points with defending champions Real Madrid but beneath them in the table because Real have won both El Clasico games this season.
Barcelona’s last home lost to Granada really spoilt their title chance but they will be lookingto make amends when they welcome their former point man Luis Suarez and Diego Simeone troops.
