Former Manchester City star player Sergio Aguero made his long-awaited Barcelona debut as the beat follow La Liga side Valencia 3-1. The game saw former Liverpool and Bayern Munich player Philippe Coutinho ended his eleven-month goal drought.

Aguero Makes Barcelona’s Debut

Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero joined Barcelona in the summer but has not played any game due to injury. He came on with three minutes left to go in the game. Shortly after, Coutinho ended his goal drought with Barca’s third goal.

The former Liverpool forward struck from close range to add to goals from Ansu Fati and Memphis Depay. Barca came from behind to win the game after Jose Gaya had given the visitors an early lead. Barca new Messi Ansu Fati marked his first start in almost a year with a goal soon after, firing home from the edge of the box with a one-two pass from Depay.

Fati was then fouled inside the box, and Depay stepped up to convert the penalty. As Valencia pushed for an equaliser, Coutinho scored for the first time since a 4-0 win against Osasuna in November 2020 to secure the win. Barca is now in the seventh-place position with 15 points, five behind leaders Real Sociedad.
