The most coveted FIFA best players award for 2021 has been given to a Spanish midfielder and Polish Striker.
Spanish and Barcelona Femme player Alexia Putellas has been voted the best women player for the year 2021 in recognition of her exploits in women football.
Alexia Putellas played a significant role in the success of Barcelona Femme in 2021, after winning the Women’s Champions League and Spanish Women league.
The Barcelona women team is unbeaten in the 2021/2022 season, scoring 98 goals in just 17 league games and conceding 4.
Putellas beats Australian, Chelsea women striker Sam Kerr and fellow Spaniard and club teammate Jenni Hermoso who are second and third, respectively.
Lewandowski Wins FIFA Best Player
Bayern Munich and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski was likewise voted the FIFA’s Men Best Player 2021 after losing to Lionel Messi in the Ballon d’Or award.
Lewandowski is winning the award for the second time running after winning the 2020 edition.
The 38-year-old striker scored 64 goals and had ten assists in 2021 while winning the Bundesliga, Club World Cup and DFL-Supercup.
Lewandowski defeated Paris Saint Germaine forward Lionel Messi and Liverpool; talisman Mohammed Salah to 2nd and 3rd.
