Barcelona Eye 31st Copa del Rey win

Barcelona did wonders as they overturned a two-goal first-leg deficit as they beat 9-man Sevilla 3-0 after extra time in a Copa del Rey semi-final second leg. Sevilla won the first leg but could not capitalize on the first-leg win as they lose the return leg.

Barcelona Did Wonders as to Beat Sevilla

Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring for Barcelona in the first 12-minutes of the game. Reges was given a red card after receiving his second yellow of the day. Barcelona capitalized on the red card and scored their second goal two minutes after the Reges was sent off.

They were levelled on aggregate as they and so was forced into the extra time. Things became worst for the visitors as another of their player de Jong was shown a red card to reduce them to nine men in the 103 minutes of the game.

Martin Braithwaite got the decisive goal with a diving header to send Barcelona to the 2021 Spanish Copa del Rey finals. Argentine star Lucas Ocampos missed a penalty for Sevilla, which would help his side edged passed Barca.

Barca will face Athletic Bilbao or Levante with the hope of recording their 31st Copa del Rey win. It was Barca’s second win against Sevilla in less than a week, they beat Sevilla in their La Liga game on Saturday to move to the second-place position in the league.
