Barcelona Appoints Larsson to Assist Koeman

Barcelona has appointed a new coach for the recently employed manager of the team, they have appointed former striker Henrik Larsson to assist the newly appointed Ronald Koeman. The 48-year-old will now reunite with his former teammate since they departed which is far back in 1997 when they played for Feyenoord.

The newly appointed assistant manager was managing one club (Helsingborgs) in his country before he left the club and has been out almost a year now without a job. Larsson has penned down a two-year contract with Barcelona like Koeman. The former Everton boss had to quit his national team assignment with Holland and return to his former club on coaching capacities.

Henrik Larsson becomes Barcelona’s assistant manager and will assist Koeman for the next two seasons, he has been added to the backroom staff another person in the backroom is former FC Twente and Hoffenheim head coach Alfred Schreuder. He worked as an assistant to Erik ten Hag at Ajax during their run to the Champions League semi-finals two seasons back.

The Blaugrana will hope their new technical team will help restore their dwindling glory having gone trophyless in the 2019-20 season. The 8-2 demolition Bayern Munich gave them has really caused a lot of changes in the team. Larsson spent just two seasons at Barcelona after joining them on a free transfer from Celtic in June 2004 and won two La Liga titles and the Champions League, he will now be assisting Ronald Koeman to build back the team.
