Nigerian Singer Olubankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, has revealed his best song yet.
The R&B singer revealed all about his new music video in an interview with Simi Drey on Beat FM Lagos.
The new music video ‘Jo’ is his first song since he took a break to focus on his political career.
He described the music video as his best yet, as his wife inspired the music.
The musician, married to famous actress Adesua Etomi, said that he got the inspiration on the first day the wife danced for him.
Even though it was years ago, he did make up his mind to write a song on the moment, which now gave birth to ‘jo’.
He said, “The first time we were in that kind of intimate moment, and she danced for me, I was like, wow! I have hit the jackpot.”
“It was a different kind of dance, but it was an inspiring moment for me. And I always said that I was going to write something about it.”
The ‘wedding party’ star has been married for four years, and he described his marriage as “having the best years of my life right now”.
He stated that he is trying to change the narrative about what people imagine marriage to be because when you look around, marriage seems like something to endure and not enjoy.
Banky W said:” ‘Jo’ is a celebration of love, your partner, celebration of dancing of couples, just all of that. And I’ve always wanted to do salsa or Latin flavoured video.”
He said it was something he had wanted to do for a long time but never got to put it together, although he is glad it never worked out then.
“Because Susu and I in this video, whoosh! Where is the flame emojis? We need the flame emojis.”
“I’ve done a lot of video in my life, but this might be my favourite video ever because there’s so much flavour. It’s lit, it’s fully lit!”
