Bandits have reportedly unleashed fresh terror on Gomata Community in the Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State where they killed the village head, his son, and also kidnapped his 71-year-old wife.
It was gathered that the 89-year-old village head, Alhaji Ibrahim Elbhi was killed along with his 46-year-old son, Dauhi Ibrahim.
Arise TV reported that the bandits came into the community around 11:30 pm on Wednesday and went straight to the house of the village head where they attempted to kidnap him but he refused and said he preferred to be shot.
Meanwhile, the village head and his son have been buried on Thursday morning while the abducted woman has yet to be released.
Members of the community expressed shock that the bandits came straight to the house of the village head without asking for direction.
