The former Vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar condemned the attack on the Abuja-Kaduna evening train.
On Monday, the 6 pm train heading to Kaduna from Abuja was attacked by unknown terrorists, after the train tracks were bombed, causing the train to derail while they opened fire on the coaches.
The presidential aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the attack on his Twitter page, reiterating the government’s duty is to protect the lives and properties of its citizens.
Atiku Abubakar wrote, “The attack on Abuja to Kaduna-bound train that reportedly left many injured and some kidnapped is condemnable.
“The government’s commitment to the protection of the life and property of the people must remain sacrosanct.
” My thoughts and prayers are with all who are affected. As one people, there is no enemy, foreign or domestic, that we cannot defeat.”
