Athletic Bilbao was last season’s finalist before the coronavirus disrupted it. They were to play Real Sociedad in the final, but it did not go well, so it was moved to the 3rd of April before playing Barca on the 17th of April in the same venue.
Raul Garcia and Alex Berenguer goals gave Bilbao victory over Levante. The first leg in Bilbao ended 1-1. Levante, aiming to win the Copa del Rey for the first tie in their history, has their hop dashed as they were knocked out.
Roger Marti opened the home team scoring in the first 17 minutes of the game before Bilbao equalised through Garcia’s penalty. The age ended 1-1, which means they were 2-2 on aggregate and forced into the extra time.
Berenguer scored a 112th-minute winner to give the home team the lead. The game ended 2-1, which means they won on aggregate them 3:2. Bilbao will be aiming to win the title for the 24th times. They won it last in 1983-84 but now can win two in one month.
