ASUU Strike: LAUTECH Resumes Academic Activities

The management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has withdrawn its institution from the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU). 

LAUTECH, in a circular shared on the school’s official website, and signed by the Registrar of the University, Dr Kayode Ogunleye, on Thursday, has announced the continuation of academic activities for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The state institution of Higher learning has mandated all staff and students resume academic activities by Monday, May 26, 2022.

The statement read, “Upon the directive of the Visitor to the university, the management, hereby, informs all staff and students that the university will continue its academic activities for the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic session on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

“The amended academic calendar for the semester will soon be made available. Staff and students are hereby enjoined to abide by this directive.

“On behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof M. 0. Liasu, I welcome all students back to the campus and wish them a crisis-free semester.”

ASUU has been on strike since Monday, February 14, 2022, which was for an initial four weeks, before extending for another eight weeks on March 14, 2022, and another 12 weeks on May 9, 2022.
