Aston Villa and Liverpool go Head to Head in FA Cup

A place in the FA Cup last 32 will be at stake when Aston Villa and Liverpool face each other at Villa Park. The Villans have been very impressive in the 2020/21 English Premier League season, but can they replicate their form in the FA Cup s a question only we can only answer after 90-minutes of play.

Aston Villa will be looking to bounce back from the Premier League defeat to Manchester United, and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against Liverpool. The good news for the hosts is that influential midfielder Ross Barkley should recover in time to face the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp’s troops, on the other hand, aim to get their revenge on the Villian who thrashed them 7-2 at the beginning of the season. They suffered a dip in form, with the team failing to win their previous three league games.

Liverpool is eager to return to winning ways as well and seeing that they are still hit by injuries at the back, the game will be an interesting one. While Liverpool cries for injury, Aston Villa will field their youth team against the champions due to coronavirus.

Villa manager Dean Smith, his coaching staff and the rest of the club’s first-team squad will not be involved after the outbreak forced the closure of the club’s Bodymoor Heath training headquarters on Thursday.

Mark Delaney, Villa’s under-23 coach, is scheduled to take charge in the absence of Smith and his backroom staff. He will be accompanied by a doctor, physiotherapist and kit staff. They are however waiting for confirmation from the English FA to postpone the game.
