Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has come out to blast Ghana players, he believes the current Black Stars squad have disappointed Ghanaians by failing to make it out of the group stage of the AFCON 2021. According to him, the Black Stars lacked the willpower and determination required to beat Comoros.
Reacting to Ghana’s embarrassing exit from the AFCON 2021 on Supersport, Asamoah Gyan in shock said the performance of the Black Stars is embarrassing. He intimated that the team did not prove their mettle and were far from good. According to Gyan, he said: “I’m devastated. I’m shocked. You can’t win a game with this kind of attitude. I saw the real Ghana when we went down to ten men.”
He also said: “We didn’t have a sense of urgency throughout the tournament. Why do you only push when you have ten men instead of 11 men? We didn’t play with determination We didn’t play with any ambition. We’ve lost, we’re going home.” “Everyone in Ghana will be disappointed. We didn’t create many chances and we’re going home. I’m very disappointed we’re going home. We didn’t see the Ghana we know today.”
Ghana did not win a single game at the AFCON 2021, they only picked up one point and remained at the bottom of the group.
