Arsenal Keeps their Europa League Hope Alive by Beating Norwich City

Arsenal is gradually finding their feet after a poor start to the resumption of the league, they beat Sheffield United in the FA Cup recently and now thrashed Norwich City 4-0 thanks to their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Following a mistake from Norwich goalkeeper, Tim Krul Aubameyang helped set Arsenal on their way to a win.

The Dutchman Krul lost possession to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the edge of his own penalty area for Arsenal’s opener, the Gabon forward whipping the ball from his feet to score his 18th top-flight goal of the season. Aubameyang later provided an assist as he set Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka to sweep home his first club goal since March 2019.

Aubameyang added another after a mistake by Josip Drmic before Cedric Soares completed the scoring to make it 4-0. Norwich are six points from safety with six games left, hit the woodwork through Ben Godfrey when the game was goalless, while Emiliano Martinez produced a fine save to keep out Kenny McLean’s free-kick.

Having lost their first two matches after the resumption of the league, Arsenal have now won their last three game, they won their FA Cup quarter-final and advanced to the semi-final to play Manchester City. Arsenal forward Aubameyang is now level on goals with Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, both player have 19 goals to their names.

Aubameyang is the fastest Gunnars player to score 50 Premier League goals, he is however yet to pledge his long-term future to the Gunners, with his current contract due to expire in 2021.
