Arsenal loanee Guendouzi who is currently with German Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin has been confirmed positive for coronavirus, the announcement was made known by the German club on their verified Twitter handle on Thursday. According to the tweet it reads:“Matteo Guendouzi has tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from international duty.” “There has been no contact with any Hertha players or staff. He is symptom-free and feeling well, but will now self-isolate for 10 days.” “Get well soon, Mattéo!”
Guendouzi was one of the players Arsenal were keen to move on this summer after his relationship with head coach Mikel Arteta fell out. The 21-year-old Frenchman featured last for Arsenal in their last season’s clash against Brighton. During the game against Brighton, Guendouzi grabbed striker Neal Maupay by the neck after full-time. An internal disciplinary meeting was held and the Football Association investigated the incident but no charges were brought.
But since then the player has not featured for the Gunnar’s team since then, he was recently loaned to German side Hertha Berlin but report now is that he has now contracted coronavirus, he will not be out for some time and he yet to make a Hertha Berlin debut and so his debut will now be prolonged.
