English Premier League side Arsenal has reportedly made a surprise move for Paris Saint-Germain target Sergio Ramos. According to reports, they are believed to be monitoring the former Real Madrid player, who is now a free agent like Lionel Messi.
Arsenal Targets Sergio Ramos
Mikel Arteta hopes to use the player to strengthen his side ahead of crucial pre-season games as former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain Brazilian defender David Luiz hope to leave the club this summer. Sergio Ramos is currently without a club after leaving Real Madrid.
After a tough 2021/22 season which is being viewed as a transitional campaign, Arteta needs to really prove his managerial mettle next season. He is expected to oversee a squad overhaul this summer, with the likes of former captain Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi already out of the team.
The club is hoping to bring in Ben White and Nuno Tavares this summer, and Arteta has now added Ramos to his list. Meanwhile, Arsenal has been hit by a fatal blow in their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva.
The Gunners wanted to sign the player who scored more goals than Erling Haaland in the Bundesliga last season, but RB Leipzig went ahead of Arsenal to sign the player for £20million.
Sergio Ramos has been targeted by Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, and now Arsenal has joined the list. Ramos might not join the club because Arsenal did not qualify for any European competition.
