English Premier League side Arsenal has indicated an interest in two players in Manchester City. According to reports, the North London side is hoping to sign both Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez. Reports suggest the Premier League champions Manchester City is preparing to offload the two players, and Arsenal is hoping to sign the two players.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is already making plans to freshen up his squad this summer. That’s even though he is the manager that spent the most in last season’s transfer window. They lost the Uefa Champions League final to Chelsea at the weekend, and Sterling was completely out of the game in the final.
Arsenal Wants Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez
It is claimed Guardiola is willing to make a number of his players available for transfer, with Sterling and Mahrez the two biggest casualty names. Raheem Sterling has lost his place this season, with Guardiola preferring Phil Foden on the left of his attack.
On the other hand, Mahrez has been a regular, but at 30 years of age, the manager is unwilling to keep him although he has two years left on his contract and could consider himself unlucky to depart. Rumours have it that the two players will cost £60m apiece, and Arsenal is willing to sign them.
Mikel Arteta is looking to rebuild his squad after a difficult season at the helm. They finished eighth and will be without European football next season for the first time since 1995/96. The only issue is if Gunners can pay their wages. Sterling is on the wage of about £300,000 a week, while Mahrez is paid an estimated £120,000 a week, so, can Arsenal afford the two players?
