Arsenal Held by Struggling Burnley at Emirates

Arsenal missed the chance to go back to the top four positions as relegation-threatened Burnley forced them to a goalless draw. The game which was played in Arsenal’s home grand is their second straight loss at home. They lose to Liverpool in the semi-final Carabao Cup with Diogo Jota scoring in both halves of the game to give Liverpool the victory.

Lacazette Fires Wild as Arsenal Suffer Draw with Burnley

Forward Alexandre Lacazette went closest to give the Gunners a winner after poking an Emile Smith Rowe cutback but it narrowly went wide midway through the second half. Smith Rowe also forced a fine diving stop from Burnley keeper Nick Pope in the second period while Martin Odegaard was denied by the stopper’s feet with a powerful effort in the first half.

Burnley who is in the bottom place of the English Premier League table ended a run of three straight defeats with the Clarets now four points off safety having played four games fewer than 17th-placed Norwich City.

For the North London side, they are now winless in their past five matches in all competitions and are sixth in the league table and two points off Manchester United in fourth who beat West Ham United 1-0 on Saturday.
