Arsenal, Brighten in Their First December Midweek Game

Share

Arsenal, Sheffield United, Newcastle and Brighton will be in action tomorrow in the EPL December midweek games. December midweek games are the most hectic period of football in the English Premier League. Arsenal will join other top EPL teams in the quest to end 2019 in a grand style. As always over here we will be giving analyes and make predictions based on their current form and position in the league table.

Sheffield United vs Newcastle United

Although both teams are regarded as underdogs, they have proven to be a real force competing with major EPL teams. Sheffield United held Manchester United to a dramatic 3-3 draw in their last two games. Newcastle also did well to hold Manchester City to a 2-2 draw on Saturday at the St. James’ Park stadium. The Magpies are brimming with confidence ahead of the trip to Sheffield, but they face a difficult task in the clash against the in-form newcomers. Sheffield United have been playing above expectations in the 2019/2020 season, and, as a result, they sit in the top half of the league table.

Sheffield United are a real force to be reckoned with at home. You should also bear in mind that they scored exactly three goals in each of their previous two home fixtures in the national championship. In their last meeting in a competitive match, Newcastle United defeated Sheffield United, meaning that the Blades are hungry for revenge. But seeing that both teams are good goal scorers we will put our money on goal-goal bet.

Arsenal vs Brighten

Despite sacking the head coach of Arsenal, the team continue in their dropping of points and sharing of points with their opponents. Arsenal is left without a head coach as they welcome Brighton to the Emirate Stadium. The Gunners aim to stay in the race for a place in the Champions League, and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at Brighton on Matchday 15. Gunners have already dropped too many points in the 2019/2020 Premier League season, meaning that this has to go down as a must-win game for the hosts.

Fredrik Ljungberg is still looking for his first win with the club. And seeing that Arsene Wenger is coming to help him, we believe they are going to put in all their best to win the game. Brighten on the other have not been really good of late. They have failed to win their last three league games, and we are positive that they are going back home empty handed. As expected, the Seagulls suffered a 2-1 loss to ten-man Liverpool at Anfield in their last league match. Since Brighton often struggle on the travels, we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Fredrik Ljungberg’s party on his debut at Emirates Stadium.
