Arik Air Loses $300,000 Valuables to Burglars

Arik Air reportedly lost some valuable equipment worth three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) following a burglary attempt that turned out successful.

The Airline confirmed a breach in their security network at a location the company described as Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State.

The management revealed that the Aircraft stolen from is a Boeing 737-73V, with registration number EI-ULN, belonging to ArikAir, adding that the thieves gained access to the Flight Management System, carted away with it and left the place empty.

One of the equipments taken was an FMS, described as a computer formulated to bring in virtual data and operational harmony, one described as an open element which is partly responsible for the flight pre-engine start and take-off, to landing and engine shutdown, respectively.

Although, it was gathered that the robbery, which caused several flights cancellation and postponement, occurred in the late hours of Wednesday, January 19 to the early hours of Thursday, January 20.
