The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has fired back at the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over Jack Dorsey’s decision to cite Twitter’s Headquarters in Ghana.

In a statement signed by James Akpanudoedehe, the National Secretary, Caretaker Planning Committee of the APC, the party said private businesses’ decision on where to cite their operations is their exclusive preserve.

The party noted that the PDP does not mean well for Nigeria for celebrating what it described as missed business prospects.

Akpanudoedehe cited other multinational technology companies in Nigeria, including Facebook, Google, who have their offices in Nigeria.

The party also listed Anheuser-Busch InBev and multinational food manufacturing giants Kelloggs as parts of companies situated in Nigeria despite what the PDP described as misrule under the President Buhari-led administration.

According to the APC, Nigeria earned $2.6 billion of the global volume of Foreign Direct Investment, despite uncertainties over the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It added that the Buhari-led administration worked towards Nigeria’s current status as Africa’s largest economy.

The APC further explained that Nigeria is doing a lot through the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council to remove bureaucratic constraints to doing business in Nigeria.

However, the party urged Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms to curb fake news, disinformation and Hate Speech.
