APC Loses Prominent Party Members to PDP

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has lost some of its influential members to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as there are suspicions that more are further going to decamp before the 2023 polls.

Toping the lists of those who recently abandoned the ruling party is John Yoriyo, a previous Deputy Governor of Gombe State, among fourteen other prominent party mates.

At a ceremony to mark their exit from the APC, Yoriyo, a second-in-command to the former Governor of the State, Danjuma Goje, said he disapproves of how the present stakeholders in the party are running things.

Ex-APC Deputy Governor Says PDP is Best Party Ever

He, however, noted that the PDP is undoubtedly the best political party, as his defection witnessed the acceptance by the opposition party, also welcoming a considerable number of his supporters running into thousands of people.

PDP’s state party Chairman, Major-General Abnor Kwaskebe, retired, among other members of the PDP, accepted Yoriyo’s request to join the party yesterday in Gombe State.

The group said the ruling party had failed Nigeria as a country, and insecurity matters are getting worse by the day.

“I was in the APC, and I have seen everything that is happening, nothing encouraging. PDP is the best place to be. There was nothing like democracy under APC in Gombe. Nobody knows what is happening. We were ignorant, and we are just being ruled,” he added.
