The ruling party APC in Edo State has disqualified Obaseki from the race to governorship elections in the state. Godwin Obaseki and two others contesting for the governorship candidacy of the party for the upcoming elections have been disqualified for undisclosed reasons.
This was announced by the screening committee in Abuja on Friday while delivering the report to the National Wing of the party led by Adams Oshiomhole. Chris Ogiemwonyi and Matthew Iduoriyekenwen. According to their report, Obaseki was disqualified because the committee could not verify the credibility of his High School Certificate which he claimed he had but could not produce. The committee reported that what he produced only attested to his attendance and does not show qualification.
The committee which was led by Professor Ayuba attested that the report is conclusive and supported by all members of the panel while claiming the assessment was thorough and complete.
