The All Progressives Congress, APC, has just confirmed that the elected chairman from Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s faction in Kano State is the genuine candidate.
The ruling party’s leadership also declared a faction of the party in Kano State led by Senator Ibrahim Shekarau as unconstitutional.
Communicating this message to their supporters, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, the Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, made this known yesterday in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
It would be recalled that the accepted faction had elected Abdullahi Abbas as its chairman, while Shekarau’s faction elected Haruna Ahmadu Danzago in the parallel congress held on October 16.
While addressing Journalists in Abuja, Akpanudoedehe noted that the congresses organised by the confirmed faction were acknowledged by one party’s administration and remained constitutional.
He affirmed that the party did not grant parallel state congress committees to the state, detailing members that attended congresses conducted by Shekarau’s faction as saboteurs.
