France and Manchester United striker Anthony Martial have fired back at United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick who claims that the former AS Monaco player refused to be in the squad to play against Aston Villa at the weekend. United let a two-goal lead slip as they drew 2-2 in the Premier League game at Villa Park on Saturday.
Anthony Martial Fires back at Ralf Rangnick
Anthony Martial has already told Rangnick he wants to leave the club because of a lack of playing time. The French forward side it this month, and Spanish La Liga side Sevilla was keen to sign him, but the club did not release the player. Manchester United head coach Ralf Rangnick said Martial did not want to be added to the squad to play against Aston Villa in the week, but the attacker has come out to talk down the claim.

The player said: “I will never refuse to play a match for Man Utd,” said the 26-year-old forward in a social media post. “I’ve been here for seven years, and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans.” Martial has not started a Premier League game since 2 October and has not featured at all since the 3-2 win against Arsenal on 2 December.
The coach said Martial said he didn’t want to be in the squad, which was why he left the player out of the squad. The manager said: “He would have been in the squad normally, but he didn’t want to, and that was the reason why he didn’t travel with us yesterday (Friday).”
