Manchester United loanee and Sevilla forward Anthony Martial have failed to impress the Spanish outfit on his debut.

Sevilla played a goalless draw against Osasuna on Saturday and the Rojiblancos coach Julen Lopetegui seems not to be impressed with the performance of the France international.

Lopetegui has said the 26-year-old needs to offer more going forward after putting out a less impressive performance against Osasuna.

Martial was signed on loan from Manchester United in January with the hope to rejuvenate their title challenge with Real Madrid leading the race for the title.

The winger was substituted with 13 minutes left of play remaining after an ineffective debut, with the match goalless and Sevilla missing the chance to close the gap at the top to just one point.

Lopetegui discussing with the media said, “Clearly he has to give us more. It was his first game, it’s not easy to adapt.

“He comes with a bit of baggage because he’s hardly played this season. Bit by bit he has to get up to speed, I’m sure he’ll get there.”

The Former Monaco forward played on the left of a front three but showed rustiness having had limited playing time with United this season.

With Martial accepting to take a pay cut during his loan spell, Sevilla will take responsibility for paying his whole salary €6m with an option to extend the loan for another season.
