In Memoriam: Ghali Na’Abba, the esteemed former Speaker of the House of Representatives, passed away at the age of 65 in Abuja on Wednesday morning.
Born on September 27, 1958, Na’Abba bravely faced a prolonged illness after seeking medical treatment abroad.
Despite the challenges, he triumphantly returned to Nigeria before peacefully departing. A stalwart member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Na’Abba emerged victorious in the Kano Municipal Federal Constituency during the April 1999 general elections, paving the way for his influential tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Having pursued his academic journey in political science at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Na’Abba graduated in 1979, laying the foundation for his impactful career in Nigerian politics.
His family has shared that the funeral will be held in Abuja on the same day, adhering to Islamic rites. Ghali Na’Abba’s legacy is indelibly etched in the annals of Nigerian political history, and his contributions will be remembered with respect and gratitude.
