Super Eagles and former Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi have finally disclosed why he left his former side Arsenal. According to him, he was unsettled in the club because of the different positions has played.
Alex Iwobi joined Everton in a deadline transfer deal from the London side in 2019. He told Skysports in an interview that since he left he has no regret at all, he said he is happy at his new place Goodison Park (Everton).
Alex Iwobi also said: “It’s tough going from that at Arsenal. One manager, obviously Unai Emery came, and yeah it was a bit different because there was a lot of different methods.”
He spoke of the fact that Arsenal was changing coaches and the change affected his positioning as well. He said playing in many positions he was not very comfortable with could be the reason for his unsettled state in the club.
Iwobi, however, said as a good footballer it is expected of you to be able to try and play other positions, and maybe he should have done better, but it is fine now, and there aren’t regrets.
Iwobi was with Arsenal for more than fourteen years, and he was with the academy and before graduating to the senior team. He made a total of 149 senior appearances for the Gunnars.
