Nigerian activist Aisha Yesufu has accused Vice President Yemi Osinbajo of shrinking the civic space. Aisha noted that Osinbajo started shrinking the civic space by driving out Shiites and the Bring Back Our Girls Group, BBOG, away from the unity fountain.
According to the activist, BBOG members who refused to leave were harassed and teargassed. She further alleged that Osinbajo sent Police to Unity Fountain 6 am- 6 pm.
She noted that Osinbajo is not just weak but mean. Aisha further opined that the Vice-President had not chosen the sides of dictators but a dictator.
Meanwhile, in a trend on Twitter, some tweeps described Osinbajo as the best Vice President in Nigeria; they referred to some of his achievement as the Acting-President when President Muhammadu Buhari was out of the country.
A tweep, @BDaunsi, said Trending Osinbajo as inactive and weak indicates a lack of understanding of the Constitution regarding power and roles.
He recalled that Osinbajo once sacked the Director-General of the Department of State Service, DSS, Lawal Daura, and ordered d disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.
Another tweep, @Adeniyi_sunny20, also recalled that Osinbajo, as an Acting President, instructed the former Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to overhaul the controversial police unit, SARS.
