If you recently feel like there has been a lot of Burna Boy on the news, your feelings aren’t unfounded. And that’s because he has been having a swell time in his career since the release of his 2018 mixtape, Outside. He has dropped several successful singles including ‘Gbona’, ‘On the Low’, ‘Dangote’ and ‘Anybody’. To the delight of fans, he has managed to keep the attention on him and it has been worthwhile.
Only recently, he won a BET Award and got a solo track off Beyonce’s executive-produced Lion King album, The Gift. Shortly afterward, he had an interview with Billboard, where he shared thoughts on the trajectory of his career as well as his top three picks on artistes to watch out from Nigeria.
A few days ago Burna Boy performed at Jimmy Kimmel Live in Los Angeles, California which was followed by a listening party of his album, African Giant organized by Okay Africa.
As far as musical careers go, Damini Ogulu is a success story through and through. Having commenced his career less than a decade ago, he has leveled up with artistes who started off years ahead of him and is currently being projected them in no time.
Utilizing his signature Afro-fusion sound, he is fast becoming the most successful exporter of Nigerian music with various recognitions pouring in his name globally. He is easily the continent’s number one sensation at the moment.
African Giant, his most recent project, was released yesterday and has generated a lot of conversations. He features a number of notable names on the album. the likes of Jorja Smith, Damien Marley, Future, Angelique Kidjo, etc.
While some of the tracks have been previously released, the album contains a lot of potential hit songs, some of which are already heating up the airwaves. ‘Gum Body’ is one of such songs.
