Ebun Olu Adegboruwa has described Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State as a dictator.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Adegboruwa listed attributes which made him described the Governor as a dictator.
He said the attributes include the arbitrary arrest of pilots and oil workers; the closure of State boundaries and an executive order to auction all vehicles impounded for allegedly violating the State’s lockdown rules.
The activist who made this known in a statement he entitled The Emerging Dictatorship in Rivers State noted that Wike should understand better being a lawyer.
He added that the happenings in Rivers State recently had become an affront to the rule of law and democracy.
The SAN further stated that the Rivers State Governor has no legal right in law to confiscate the property of citizens by executive fiat.
Adegboruwa urged the people of the State to stand against every form of lawlessness and defend their rights under the Constitution.
You will recall that Wike had on Friday arrested 14 persons hidden in two trailers conveying cattle from Adamawa State to Port Harcourt, the State’s capital and said the two truck-load of cows and the vehicles would be auctioned.
