Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has lamented the poor wage structure by the Nigerian filmmakers.
The American born Nigerian act disclosed that Nollywood filmmakers pay actors peanuts in the movie industry.
While demanding that the Yoruba movie industry stop asking actors for favours, the 45-year-old said, “This is not me calling anyone out. I’m saying it is time for actors in the film industry to get paid for what they do.
“Stop asking talents to do you a favour with their work and you pay them peanuts.”
Yoruba Filmmakers are Greedy – Adunni Ade
The mother of two also added that filmmakers should stop being greedy and pay actors their worth.
Adunni further noted that these filmmakers, in Yoruba Nollywood, get richer while the actors remain at the same spot because of favour.
She also revealed that people do anything just to break into the movie industry, but advises them to use social media to showcase their talents.
“People not from wealthy backgrounds do whatever to break in. I keep telling people what will be, will be. You don’t have to rush and become famous,” She said.
“You have social media and more avenues now to break into the industry without having to sell your soul,” the actress concluded.
