Abuja-Kaduna Attack: Terrorists Strike Again, Airlines Suspend Flights to Kaduna

Less than 24hours after the Abuja-Kaduna train attack by still unidentified terrorists, another attack was made on the Gidan train station along the Kaduna-Abuja train route on Tuesday.

Despite the deployment of security personnel on the route after Monday’s attack, some unknown terrorists dared the Nigerian security agencies again.

It was also reported a few days ago that some terrorists halted activities at the Kaduna airport, stopping aeroplanes from taking off.

Airlines Fears Terrorists Attacks

However, the attack was contained by security forces, but as the level of insecurity around the axis continues to escalate, some airlines have halted their operations to Kaduna from Abuja indefinitely.

Air Peace and Azman airlines confirmed that they had suspended their operations in the Kaduna airport due to insecurity in the state.

Stanley Olisa, a spokesperson for Air Peace confirming the report said “Yes, Kaduna flights suspended due to insecurity.”

Also, in an official statement by the management of Azman Air, they confirmed a halt for a few days.

It read, “We understand that the security situation around the airport has been handled and normalcy has been restored accordingly, but it is imperative for the management to re-evaluate its operational procedures in the airport to ensure maximum safety of equipment, staff and passengers are fully guaranteed.”

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has also on Tuesday announced the suspension of operations along the Abuja-Kaduna rail route
