Detained Abba Kyari, a former Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, has allegedly been seen rejecting prison food since he and six other accomplices were asked to remain in the Kuje Correctional Facility till the next court hearing.
One of the officials at the correctional centre confirmed it to journalists yesterday that Kyari, the once celebrated super cop, doesn’t eat prison food, especially since he was detained.
According to the report, DCP Abba Kyari, who was also the former police boss and team lead of intelligence Response Team, IRT, have been insisting that they provide only meals prepared by his wife or family members.
Remember that he is under prosecution for drug trafficking alongside other policemen denied bail by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja some days ago.
The Federal HighCourt Judge, Emeka Nwike, denied Kyari bail and gave an order for him and others involved in the case to be remanded in Prison.
Information gathered revealed that him and other co-defendants have settled down in the custodial centre but sources said the DCP has largely kept to himself since his arrival on Monday.
Meanwhile, some inmates reportedly started rejoicing seeing a former celebrated cop, who may have had an encounter with them in regards to their arrests, but is now in their midst as a suspect.
