Abba Kyari has been sent to the Kuje Correctional Centre until when the Federal High Court in Abuja would reconvene towards April ending.
The detention was also extended to six other accomplices as they were asked to remain in the correctional facility without any bail conditions.
Making the pronouncements was Justice Emeka Nwite, who gave the order when the court refused the bail application of Abba Kyari and his cohorts.
Justice Nwite affirmed that the matter will be given accelerated hearing so the fate of the seven suspended officers could be decided.
The case has been adjourned for the review of facts in respect of the case against the two accused that pleaded guilty for drugtrafficking, among other crimes.
Reasons for Abba Kyari’s Bail Denial
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, who said the applicant might interfere with the evidence if granted bail, urged the court to dismiss Kyari’s bail plea.
It argued that the medical challenges of the applicant was not beyond the capacity of the agency’s medical personnel.
